Scope of Works

ATOL was appointed to work on multiple million historic refurbishments, specialist experience in delivering comprehensive firestopping and fire coating systems installations, ATOL prides itself on the approach of working within the historic sector assure working with all parties to keep the framework of the historic building.

This multi-million-pound project involved the complete refurbishment of the 19th-century Malting House, reinstating some of the building’s industrial features that were lost or fell into decay. The Malthouse building in Canterbury has been acquired by the world-renowned Kings School and its conversion will now provide space for a new 400-seat theatre, digital art spaces, galleries and foyers. With phase one of the project completion of teaching rooms, dance studios, laboratories, washroom and catering facilities as well as a new grand staircase using solid Oak sleepers.

ATOL had the immense pleasure to be apart of the renovation and complete fire protection of such a 19th-century heritage building in the local area. Our team worked tirelessly to provide protection from fire for the building and its new tenants but offer an unrivalled finish to both steel and timber substrates to complement the quality workmanship of the principal contractor.

Preparation

Masking exposed walls/ceiling and protection floor to assure protection from overspray. Check all substrate for moisture content. Lightly sanding down the surface ready for the application of the fire treatment.

Installation

We provided both structural steel fire protection along with treatment to both new timber and existing oak beams and sleepers.
