Mayfair Headquarters — London

ATOL Construction was instructed to deliver fire protection to the structural steel and cross-laminated timber frame of a new headquarters building in Mayfair — ten floors of coating across the whole building.

The defining demand on this project was colour. Where CLT and glulam are left exposed, the fire protection coating is the finished surface — there is nowhere to conceal it. The system had to achieve the required fire performance while matching the exact colour variant specified by the client, held consistently across all ten floors and across two very different substrates: structural steel and engineered timber.

ATOL also contributed to the design of the fire protection for the CLT and glulam structure, working the specification through with the project team before any application began.
